A VERY Despicable Me Minionnettes....

Bellooo....

A very Despicable Me Minion-nettes... Title fits for it... Yeah.. yeah... curse all you want.

This is what I have been up to lately with all the emo-swings going on. Don't ask me because I also don't know why.. At least deep darkest inside me, I understood I have not lost touch with all my minion-fingers..

Now I am working on my second Minion-nettes with 2 eyes. About to finish as I am still looking into the WWW for to modify hands and shoes which I failed in this first Minion.

I am aiming to closely crochet shoes closer to the original character. As for the fingers, original pattern has it but somehow I fail in getting the fingers right after many attempts.  So as usual I modified as I was kind of rushing this Minion-nette for its' new owner.

Estimated completion time is 36 hours with my business hours and minus all my battles with emo-swings in between. I would say ezy-miyaki..

Note : Instructions are in spanish and yes please Google translate it. Pretty             accurate I would say about 95%

Wokieee... Keep a lookout for my next 'A very Despicable Me Minion-nettes' and I would share my modified version pattern instruction featuring 2 eyes, fingers and shoes..

Kampaiiiii.........

Reddy Summer Bear

Ta-daa.... Finallyyyy.... I'm so happy to have completed this 10 inch crochet bear, pattern and instruction adapted from Northern Summers's post..

I'm really amazed and extremely excited completing this project despite having to re-do some stitches from start due to my overly ambitious of not using a stopper.... :-p

Yeah, yeah... I lost count....

These are the un-assemble completed  bear parts and before stuffing.

Ok, okay.. I know the images are not very good. Out of over-extreme excitement I took these images using my HTC Wildfire without flash and way late at night.

If let my photography 'sifu' see this, I think he will faint and give me that side-way glance...

Eeecks!... I'm feeling it already.

Before assembling all the bear parts, you would need to stuff and stitch flat the opening of arms and legs before attaching to the body follow by stuffing.

I actually crochet the bear halfway, attached the legs, put in the stuffings and continue to close the gaps.

In this way, it will be easier to attached parts and do the stuffing.  This part is where I attached the arms and finished of with closure of the body.

The next image is the Bear's head. Same method, attached the ears to the side of the head before totally closing the gap.

The trick is to use the beginning point as a guideline for positioning the ear.

Once this is completed, stitch join the head to the body, and Yes! using the beginning point as positioning guide.

And wah-lah! This is how the assembled Bear looks like.

As for the eyes, nose and mouth, I embroidery it with black thread.

Mission accomplished....

Next project, I'm itching to do another tote bag for my friend, as a birthday gift and also a few other smaller stuff as party gifts....

An Epiphany Week...

Caramel Cafe Latte

March oh March.. We are coming to the end of 2nd week. Damnn... so fast and furious and I'm no where I'm suppose to be..

Frustrating? Yeahhh...................
Sad? Double whammy yeahhh......
Sick to the gut? Triple yeahhh.....
Is all I can say......

I tell you more at the end... Now good stuff first....

Freshly order to bake Beef Pepperoni Pretzel
Anyway, today I went wedding gift shopping at IKEA and got a very practical gift for my client, Masleena & Saiful and I hope they will like it. The ceremony is tomorrow at The Duchess@Jalan Ampang and I heard the place is awesome.

Today I made a pit-stop at Chilla Cup, a newly renovated kopi-ing joint next to Starbucks Ikano Power Center on the Ground Floor. At a glance, I have officially appointed this joint as my work-on-the-go pit stop.

The awesomely cool thing about this kopi-ing joint is their pastry are freshly bake only upon ordering.  My next visit I'm going to try their Butter Caramel Toast and I bet it is going to be a killer....

Nevertheless, would I ever short change myself to treats? Hell noooo... not even for the nonsense I had this week. Back to my epiphany episodes.......

I thought I could be the bigger person to wade through all the epiphany episodes moment that has decided to rekindle its' presence to me once again, but noooooo... nope, despite my consciously and sub-consciously self consolation to let it go and bygones like the last time.

Why? Simply because it is coming from people who I'm close too and closely related too and these are the people who thinks that I wouldn't take it to heart and mind or simply they consciously and sub-consciously take me for granted time and time again.

Well, too bad everyone have their limits and when one doesn't say anything even you rub it in their face again and again, it doesn't mean it is okay to continue repeating it.  If I would start to detail what I'm angry of, 365 days also not enough, which is why I choose to let it go one more time.

So, if I start to put a price tag on our relationship or limit my presence or communicate less or ignore you, please blame yourself and don't ask me why, simply; you always think you are right even it is wrong...

So, more to come, more to come on the good stuff only.... PEACE!

Northern Rest, Relax & Makan

Last weekend me and my pal, Sheena went for a awesome relaxing trip up north, Penang.  This round, I was bold enough on online booking in at 1926 Heritage Hotel, Jalan Burma through AsiaRooms portal. I got a standard room for RM130.00nett and I was pretty impressed with the pleasant staff service, basic necessities, clean and cosy, free wi-fi + swimming pool.  They might need to improve on sound proofing their rooms and have Astro-lor.

We decided to have a relaxing trip and follow the wind of our mood on what activities as it was short one while we attend my client's wedding dinner in Butterworth, Keshu & Dev.

Penang Prawn Noodle / Hae Mee
Well, when it comes to Penang, it is all about food and nothing but the food.

Any simple coffee shop or hawker stall, serves palatable food and seriously caught dumbfounded with pricing.

One can never get a Char Koay Teow for RM3.50 or even Hae Mee for RM3.00 in this era and especially in Klang Valley.

Penang Char Koay Teow

I seriously can't imagine how inflated pricing are in the Klang Valley.  It is either stingy on the portion or contents or even both.

I not sure about you guys but I sometime feel being bully to pay for a sometime non-palatable dish and rub in more salt, paying 20% to 30% more for the same dish and portion.

Aiyohhhh....

If you are telling me that petrol or diesel price increases and it is the reason for increase in raw material, I think it is bullshit-lor. So what!, Penang people don't drive car-meh, halooo....

Dim Sum - one very evergreen food

Ok, enough of my ranting.. The next day on our way back, we make a Ipoh pit stop.  Heavenly another foodie heaven.

1st pit stop - Foh San Restaurant @ Jalan Leong Sin Nam.  Since we arrived there late lunch hour, a lot of the dim sum have sold out. This joint is one place to go in Ipoh.

Hopefully in our next trip up North again, we will savour the other dim sum that we miss this round and probably do the in-famous nasi ganja and yong tau fu and tau fu fah and my favorite No 1. kopi-ing.

Kaya Puff - yummy and still crispy after 4 days

2nd pit stop - Sin Eng Heong @ Jalan Mustapha Al-Bakri. A swear to die for place you must stop and buy their famous Kaya Puff, right out of the oven and trust me, people have to queue up and will leave the shop at least 1/2 dozen.

2.5 pit stop - Kopi-ing @ outlet No.1, Old Town Kopitiam. Ok-ok, they are not open on this particular sunday, so we went next door for my kopi-fix.  Simply worth it, smooth and refreshing white coffee + roti bakar, equally good as No.1 outlet...

Good buys - Pomelo
3rd pit stop-Xian Fatt Fruit Stall
@ Jalan 6, Ampang Baru.  This is the place to go for your pomelo. I can't help rubbing salt again, their pricing of 2 pomelo, you can only buy 1 pomelo in Klang Valley. Oklah, I be fair, factor in the transportation cost from Ipoh to KL.

The lady boss here is one pretty good business person. Straight away ask you want sweet or sweet sour type.

The moment I open my car door, the pomelo fragrant is in the air and yes we are surrounded by pomelo farm.  Free smell!!! Original perfume!!!...

Hmmm... next round I must take more pix of the surrounding and you will know what I'm talking about.

Well, that was one awesome short trip, a emotional battery re-charge and hell-YES, I'm looking forward for my next short trip. AWESOMmmmE......

Project KISS no. 1

My 1st handsewn bag
Yup.. you got it righto... My very 1st hand-sew project.  A little bag which I hand-sew it and it took me like 5-6 hours to complete.

I only now dare to post it after making some alterations and beautification and YES-lor! again... this is going to be my next business which I have started beginning this year and it is always been my well kept hidden interest and passion to number of friends who knows me well.

The pattern on the bag is famously known russian nesting wooden doll - Matryoshka Doll.  I got this kit during a workshop organized by KDU Zakka Workshop from D'Handmade's House by Florence Lui who guide us through step by step and she's one superb teacher. Mighty interesting!!!...

It was a try-out for me to test myself, hopefully I'm not just "hangat-hangat tahi ayam" and I now really really know that if I set myself to do it, I can do it and it really was a booster to my confidence knowing what I'm capable of.

Well, this bag is not for sale as it is my 1st born.  So it is more to come... Look out in this space or my facebook page.. February 2013 will be ending in another 4 hours and March 2013 is here already. Wow... it is like a split second; only recently we were all celebrating Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day and Chap Goh Mei.  Time really flies fast and I have a lot of catching up to do with my planning and goals that I have set for...

'Panthera Group Official 'Hoi Kung' Lunch

Louuuu Sanggggg

This would be our Panthera Group's 3rd year celebrating our very own CNY 'Hoi Kung' lunch hosted by my manager, Karen Leong.

We have come a long way growing our group and everyone of us come from different race, background and age group. I can say we are one 'Muhibbah' group and we being we are like any family, have their misgiving, different of opinion, fun and laughter.

That is one thing I like about being a born and breed Malaysian, despite of all the mumbo-jumbo out there, we still live peacefully and harmony. Ok... enough of all the patriotic talk.

Back to our 'Hoi Kung' lunch. I really have to apologize as this is the only photo I have and I was too engrossed with the spread we have today.  This year we went to Restoran Muhibbah and this joint moved from their Taman Tun Dr Ismail to their own homely new place in Sungai Penchala. I only found their Facebook link through Google, which have more photos and map to their restaurant.

It will be a good choice to have a good meal and it is 'halal' if your guest or group are like our muhibbah Panthera's.. Today is the 10th day of CNY Water Snake year. It will be Chap Goh Mei this sunday, so let's 'Louuuu Sangggg' all the way....

'Hoi Kung Lorrr....'

Flat White (if you like strong coffee taste)
Yessss-lorrrr... I 'Hoi Kung' today, CNY 4th day.. Strangely I guess a lot of people are not back to work officially, still basking with all the mandarin oranges, 'rou karn' and cookies. I started my day with checking Prudential Raise portal for updates and emails.

Also made some calls and frustratingly calling most of the nearby Proton Service Centre to fix my power window which unavailed non can slot me in.  After a few attempts, I call back the Service Mesra @ Damansara Petronas Station to slot me in tomorrow.  Yeah yeah yeah... the window had to go down under while in Klang visiting relatives on 1st day of CNY.  Luckily weather has been good for the past few days.

Red Velvet

Well, I decided to go kopi-ing again and this time it is the new joint at Damansara Uptown call Kaffa Espressor Bar. One expression to everything from ambience, decor, staff, service and foodies and coffeesss - AWESOMELY SUPER DUPER COOLLLLLLL!!!!!..

One thing please don't be fooled by the cup they serve you in. Nooooo..... it is not your Ah-Ma Ah-Kong's metal teko kopi, it is ceramic. The one you drop will break to gazillion pieces. The Red Velvet is pretty moist only I find the icing top a bit sweet..

This place can really spoil me for sure and planning my next escapade there soon.
